Ingrid Šírová is the founder and creative director of Interiors by Ingrid, a luxury interior design studio based in Macclesfield, Cheshire. With 20 years of experience in high-end residential interior design, Ingrid creates sophisticated, timeless homes that combine thoughtful interior architecture with beautifully considered furnishings and finishes.
As a BIID Registered Interior Designer, Ingrid brings together formal training in fashion and interior design with extensive practical experience in residential interiors, interior architecture and renovation. She works closely with homeowners, architects, craftspeople and specialist suppliers to create considered spaces that feel both timeless and personal.
Ingrid's background
Ingrid’s passion for design began in Prague, where she studied fashion design. Her training developed a strong understanding of textiles, colour, materials, proportion and craftsmanship – disciplines that continue to influence her work today.
After moving to England, Ingrid studied interior design at Liverpool John Moores University, developing her understanding of spatial planning, architectural detailing, remodelling and the transformation of existing buildings.
Combining these two creative disciplines has shaped a distinctive approach to interiors. Materials, textures, furniture, lighting and architectural details are considered as part of one cohesive design rather than as separate elements.
Experience and expertise
While completing her interior design degree at Liverpool John Moores University, Ingrid gained valuable hands-on experience with Uber Interiors, a high-end interior design studio specialising in luxury residential interior design. She continued to work with the studio on a full-time basis after graduating, further strengthening her expertise in luxury interior design projects across Cheshire and the UK.
This experience allowed Ingrid to apply her academic training in interior design to real-world residential projects, working on high-end homes and bespoke interiors. It also deepened her understanding of the full interior design process, from initial concept development and spatial planning through to material specification, project coordination and final installation.
She subsequently joined Janey Butler Interiors, where she became principal designer and played an important role in developing the practice.
This combination of formal education and extensive industry experience led Ingrid to establish INTERIORS BY INGRID, an independent interior design studio in Macclesfield, Cheshire.
Today, she works on residential projects ranging from individual room transformations to substantial renovations and turnkey interior design projects.
Her design philosophy to Interiors
There is no single Interiors by Ingrid “house style” – every project is individually designed by Ingrid to reflect the client, the property and its setting.
Each interior design project begins with a detailed understanding of how the space will be used, alongside the architectural character of the home. Natural light, proportions, existing structure, materials and setting all play a key role in shaping the final design.
The aim is to create bespoke interiors in Cheshire that feel authentic, functional and timeless – whether for a contemporary family home, a period property, a country cottage or a full luxury renovation.
