Luxury Interior Design for a Family Home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire

Highbank  is a luxury interior design project in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, created by Interiors by Ingrid for a large family home. The four-phase refurbishment encompasses approximately 8,000 square feet, including a master bedroom and ensuite, two luxury dressing rooms with carefully integrated smart-home technology.

The project combines bespoke interior architecture, luxurious materials and carefully considered lighting to create an elegant, contemporary family home.

This Alderley Edge interior design project was conceived as a sophisticated yet comfortable family home, balancing contemporary detailing with luxurious textures and timeless materials. Bespoke joinery, specialist veneers, velvet upholstery, antique mirror, brushed brass and statement lighting create a cohesive aesthetic throughout the master suite and dressing rooms.

The project demonstrates Interiors by Ingrid’s approach to bespoke residential interior design in Cheshire, combining interior architecture, lighting, furniture, materials and craftsmanship to create spaces tailored to the client’s lifestyle.

Phase 1: Master Bedroom & Ensuite Design

Luxury Master Bedroom Design

The master bedroom was designed as a luxurious, calming retreat, combining muted tones, sumptuous velvet textures and sculptural statement lighting. A bespoke oversized headboard in Birds Eye Maple veneer forms the focal point of the room, complemented by softly curved furniture and carefully considered architectural detailing.

Structural alterations created a recessed setting for the bespoke headboard, niches for fine-art photography and a dropped ceiling to conceal the curtains. Bespoke furniture, specialist finishes and layered lighting were used to create a sophisticated bedroom that feels both glamorous and comfortable.

Luxury En-suite Design

The enlarged master ensuite was designed as a seamless extension of the bedroom. A 2.5-metre floating vanity with antique mirror creates a striking focal point while providing generous storage. Large-format surfaces, refined brass detailing and carefully positioned lighting contribute to the tranquil, contemporary feel of this luxury ensuite in Alderley Edge.

Phase 2- dressing rooms remodelling

In creating the dressing rooms, it was crucial to sustain design continuity from the master bedroom to the dressing rooms as they are directly linked.

Specialist finishes such as Birds Eye Maple were carried through and complimented by recessed edge pulls to create this contemporary and elegant dressing room design with maximum storage.

Structural adaptations include recessed ceilings in both dressing rooms to add depth, height, and a lighting effect that is transformational. The very special Blossom Chandelier hung effortlessly above the  central island, creating the perfect focal point. The antique mirror and velvet finishes used in this elegant master ensuite work harmoniously with the brushed brass metalwork to deliver an elegant and simplistic design with a muted colour palette.
